Her father told her that clubs were for bad girls; girls who did drugs and smoked, and if Kairi ever had sex before she was married, he would disown her. Tseng was a no-nonsense man, and his precious daughter ever setting foot in a club was a no-no. Her mother Elena, while not quite as strict, would bend to whatever her father said. So she really wasn’t helping at all.

Her brothers, however, were completely on her side. Reno liked living dangerously-he taught her four ways to get away from an attacker when she turned thirteen. He proclaimed “She’s ready,” and considered his duty as an older brother done. Axel was a pyro, playing with fire was his specialty in both senses of the phrase. On the same thirteenth birthday, he’d given her one of his precious lighters. “Use it wisely,” he’d said, and somehow it was significant. She’d lit it once, and it flickered briefly before going out. Several hours later, Kairi was wondering how in the world they managed to convince her to go. The music was loud and pounding on her eardrums, and she was exhausted. Axel and Roxas, her so-called “protectors”, were practically having sex on the dance floor, leaving her to herself with a bunch of strangers. She tugged at her black miniskirt uncomfortably, finally wandering over in the direction of the ladies’ room. At least it would be slightly quieter

A few drinks and a few hours later, Kairi felt better than she’d felt in her entire life. She was giggling madly and now she couldn’t remember what was so funny, but Olette was smiling at her and Axel and Roxas were completely occupied with Pence and Hayner. Olette tugged her wrist towards the black couch in the corner, blending into the scenery perfectly. Then they were falling onto the couch, but it was alright because Olette caught her and set her down gently. Then Olette went to whisper something and she kind of-leaned, and Kairi kind of leaned too, and they ended up kissing in the corner
