This is an honest question, so please don't take offense, but how exactly do you expect Vanitas to be sweet and comforting AND in character? By nature he's a villain and it doesn't seem like he would have it in him to be anything less than...y'know. Evil. I'll take a swing at this if you can explain to me how you envision him to be in character and sweet/comforting, I'm just not getting it for myself.

Um, it's kind of hard to explain, but I understand it's kind of impossible.
I kind of thought it as he pitied him for whatever reason, or it could be a way of getting closer to Ven for a more evil intention, or he planned to hurt Ven in the most horrible way in the end after comforting him. It totally contradicts what I requested, I know. I wasn't in the right mindset at the time I requested it, sorry. >>
You don't have to make him in character if you don't want to, just saying it's a bonus.

Oh no, it's fine! I wasn't trying to sound accusatory or anything, I was just a little confused. I think it's doable...let's see if I can do something for you. My internet is spotty so I'm not sure when I'd be able to post it, so if someone else would like a whack at this, by all means!
