My parents both use Brit spelling, and they were my first English teachers, so I use both systems interchangeably and honestly wouldn't be able to tell you (or God forbid, my profs) the difference. Stop correcting me, Spellcheck, you're the uncouth heathen who's doin' it wrong.

Because I've spent far too much time hanging out on the net talking to Americans, I can easily switch between the two. And I beta for blizzardseason so I need to know the differences in case I correct her with one thing and then that turns out to be a British spelling/whatever. It's a bit confusing sometimes, but I try and keep an easy mix of terms going (fries in this, for instance, I spent five minutes asking myself if I should use chips or fries) but stick to Brit spelling all the way.
