I know this has been filled, but the plunny attacked me and I had to write it.

When Riku was little, he had heard the story about the young man who had fallen in love with his own reflection and refused to leave the pool he'd seen it in, ending up as a flower because of it. The moral of the story, according to his teacher, had been not to become so vain that you destroyed yourself over it.

He had scoffed at the tale, stating in his 13-year-old overconfidence that he would never, ever be like that. Besides, that guy got turned into a flower, and that just didn't happen to anyone, ever, even if they were especially vain.

Riku never considered that the myth just might apply to him as well

Riku shrugged; it wasn't his fault that Wakka was one of the tallest boys in their group. The tallest, if you counted his hair. Riku and his 'twin' were officially the tallest, which Riku really couldn't understand...apparently the replica copied his growth patterns too. Even so, it made Riku jump a little when he found said twin's face right in front of his, informing him that he was 'spacing out again
