So. It's been years, huh? I stopped posting because it seemed like no one read this journal anyway, and I was trying to do my art thing on tumblr, but boy is that site isolating and unrewarding

I doubt you'd remember me (as I haven't been on lj for years myself, but I keep it up once in a while), but just wanted to let you know that someone has read your message, and that I have always loved your art. (And at least you're regularly still doing your art - I haven't done any of my writing in ages! D'oh!)
As a teacher (I'm in Canada), I know what you mean about the isolation, the difficulties staying at home and maintaining a healthy routine, and the challenges inherent in implementing a new way to ensure continued learning for students and their families, except I have a huge responsibility to create and design lessons (and assessment) that can be delivered through online means. It's a bit intimidating!
Anyway, I wish you luck, and please keep doing your fabulous art!
Hi, I remember you! Somewhat anyway, I remember your name as someone I chatted with in comments and was always nice to interact with, so seeing your name made me happy and not anxious.
I'm glad you're doing well! What grade do you teach? I've got first grade. I feel like for even slightly older kids would be easier with this, because they'd have more reading and writing skills, but with little kids... of course, last summer I did summer school and I met a fifth grader who could barely read, so age is no guarantee of anything.
Been meaning to write you a message since new years, when I got your card! It's on display next to our other holiday cards, which also happens to be where I've put the painting I bought from you like... a dozen years ago? It's out in the hallway between the bedrooms in the apartment I share with two close friends. Which I still feel like I didn't pay you enough for, it's so gorgeous. Maybe that's why I'm one of those four people on patreon, so make up for it over time. That and just wanting to support your art, cause it's gorgeous and very under-appreciated online. I've been really enjoying seeing your daily updates, it's neat to see stuff from where you live

Wow, would you believe I'd forgotten that painting until now? It's still as good as I remember, ha, those light on the hands came out perfect. I do remember being blind-sided by how much shipping cost, but now ten years later I'm glad it's with someone who wanted it and kept it; most of my paintings are either in a closet in my parents' house, or else I gave them away to random people just to get rid of them

Oh cool, I've used Discord. There are some comics groups that I've dipped in and out of. Can you guess what my username is? No one could ever guess, I am very unpredictable.
