Something I ran across of interest:
http://gehayi.livejournal.com/259518.html#cutid1 The story itself is not all that remarkable, but as a summary indictment of a) the plot holes left gaping by JKR and b) the negligence and incompetence of Dumbledore in canon, it's a

But I think it's the same article I saw on the weekend, too; this was the trail I saw:
- messge 21426 on the viridian_dreams Yahoo group here about someone posting a 'rant' about 'Nightmares of Future Past"
- that rant is here, on a LJ 'ficrants' community.
- there's a comment posted under the rant which pointed to the anti-Dumbledore story that you mention.
- Matthew later posted a good (and lengthy!) rebuttal.
I could read it on the weekend, but not today! I either get the 'no permission' error or "You are not authorized to view this protected entry.I wonder what's up? Seems that the owner - 'gehayi' - has locked that particular story for some reason ( ... )

As to the LJ - it appears that the LJ owner has nuked the last month's worth of content - which can happen if you don't know what you're doing when you're playing with the settings!

Here's the anti-prophecy paragraph I loved so much:
"A waste," Sirius replied. "Arthur Weasley nearly died, and you did die, protecting this not-quite-the-last-copy-of-the-prophecy during Harry's fifth year...and for what? For Dumbledore to turn around in Harry's sixth year and inform him that the prophecy so many people had risked their lives for in the previous year had no power whatsoever."
I really can't understand what JKR was thinking when she/Dumbledore did that reversal regarding the prophecy in HBP.
Thanks again!
