I like the whole letter writing for communication between Harry and Lily, and *snerk* Ron doesn't like blondes!

OK, this is absolutely fascinating. The reactions of the characters to the situation are quite believable, and I very much enjoy Hermione's perspective on things. She's an excellent choice of viewpoint.

I also like how the horcrux quest is kind of in the background, but still present.

I enjoyed Hermione's protest at lying to Harry. That's a lesson they've learned (the hard way) through his reactions in 5th year, so I appreciate your keeping her in character with what has gone before. Hermione of all people would learn her lessons well ( ... )

Hermione, unconsciously, was looking like a version of Lavender Brown, ten years older.

I'll have to make that more clear.
