Koko, if you haven't seen any recent interviews with former CIA agent and Iran "expert", Robert Baer, you might find what he has to say about Iran to be quite interesting. I think I heard him on Book TV, but it could have been a news show. In any case, he says Iran is most certainly a superpower right now because they have the ability to serious effect the world economy. He also says the only reason things are relatively calm in Iraq right now is because of Iranian influence, and that we need to learn to negotiate with them. There's more to it, but I know Baer's all over the news/blogosphere right now, so you probably already know all this.

I will have to look him up.

The reality is that our invasion of Iraq did more to strengthen Iran than anything since the Shah was deposed.
