after repeatedly admonishing my kids not to procreate my daughter and her husband have defied me. they're pregnant and due june 8th... i am highly disappointed.

not really, it's just going to take some getting used to. poor kyrie, she's already got back problems and this is going to be hard on her.

Worrying about your daughter's health is going to be hard on you. I hope you both come through it okay. A young cousin of mine is currently having big problems with pre-eclampsia and will be getting her tubes tied. Her problems are being compounded by her husband, who is a dick and has been complaining loudly because the baby is a girl and he wanted a boy. So, having a good support system in you and her husband will be a big plus for your daughter. You will be an awesome grandmother. ^_^

thanks! i can try. she's not having any other problems except for the back problems and morning sickness so far, they're watching for gestational diabetes and taking precautions with her diet.

i hope everything turns out okay for your cousin -- my daughter and son in law along with his whole family are hoping for a girl. your cousin's husband should be told that it's the sperm that has more to do in determining the gender and that if he wanted a boy he should be blaming himself (i'll loan you a 2x4 to help instill the point).

hi kevin! it's been too long. i hope you and runny are doing good. give my lovely 'daughter' a big hug from me and tell her i love her, you too!

i'm only hard on kyrie when she's not taking care of herself but i'm not angry, just that it's very difficult for me to get used to the idea, and everything that comes with it so thank you for your concern and congratulations. (we all take my attitude in good fun, it's more joking and kidding around than anything)

congratulations to you and runny on your library, i hope it'll be a wonderful place to relax and to read. =)

It's going to be hard on her, but she'll make it through because women were built to be strong. I hope the pregnancy goes smoothly. My friend Amy is pregnant too, she's entering her second trimester and she's having all these awful cramps.

It's tough being pregnant.

So, um, congrats on having a granbaby on the way!

thanks love! yes, pregnancy is a hard dirty job and we were built for it.

have your friend get a softball and someone can roll it around on her back and push it against her tailbone when the pain gets bad -- as a matter of fact it'll be a good thing to take into the labor room with her so her labor partner can massage her with it and push it against her tailbone (especially good if she's having back labor but helps no matter what). i used to do massage and have attended a few births as a masseuse -- the softball is good because massage is hard on the hands.

That's a good tip! Thank you! I'll let her know. It's her first time. Her mother is behind her 100% but she still fears the whole labor process. It's a normal fear though. :)

thanks love, i'm trying not to think about becoming 'granny daycare' when her maternity leave is up but hopefully her husband will no longer be laid off and since i'm on her way to work i get the honors... she can come by during lunch and breaks to nurse. i am not at all looking forward to diapers.

Ah, yes, that is certainly a legitimate concern. ^^; Though I guess it's one of those things that'll be "over before you know it"?
