Here is the fifth chapter of my KOL/Hanson slashy. :-D Again, this is entirely a figment of my imagination! For now, it is still rated R. I hope you like. More soon!
Chapter Five
Caleb led Taylor into a vacant dressing room and closed the door. Taylor stood awkwardly in the center of the room, his hands fluttering at his sides with nervous energy. He watched Caleb warily as he locked the door and walked toward him. Taylor took a few involuntary half-steps back.
Caleb reached out and caught his shoulder. “C’mon. You’re not scared of me now, are you? You know I won’t hurt you.”
“Caleb, stop,” Taylor groaned. “You said you wanted to talk.”
“You used to beg me to touch you.” The smile began to disappear from his face.
Taylor felt his pulse racing and he felt hot. He knew he shouldn’t have come. “That was a long time ago. Everything’s different. You left. I . . . got married.”
Caleb frowned and released Taylor’s shoulder. “Yeah, I know. I heard you knocked up some girl and had to make an honest woman out of her.”
Taylor backed away and sat down on the couch on the far side of the small room. “Uh . . . yeah. Something like that. She was my girlfriend, though. We have a son now.”
Caleb sat beside him, but not too close. “Ezra?”
“Yeah,” he said, smiling briefly. “He’s the best thing that ever happened to me. He’s gonna be three this fall.”
Caleb nodded.” “On Halloween.”
Taylor’s eyes widened. “Holy shit! How’d you know all that?”
“Been keeping tabs.” He shrugged.
“Why didn’t you ever contact me if you knew where I was?”
“I figured you wouldn’t want to see me anymore since you got your life all set. But then I saw you out in the crowd tonight. I know you felt something when you looked at me. I felt it, too.”
Taylor sighed. “I know. I felt it. But that doesn’t change anything. You’re part of my past; my future is with Ezra and Natalie.”
“You still have feelings for me,” Caleb declared quietly.
“So? We still can’t do anything about it. Natalie's got another baby on the way. I’m not going to leave my wife.”
“You don’t have to.” He inched closer and stroked Taylor’s cheek with the tips of his fingers. “Just give me something, any little part of yourself you can spare.”
Taylor shuddered. “I can’t, Cay.”
“We were so good together. You know, you were my first boy . . .”
“You were mine, too,” Taylor whispered. “You were the only one.”
Caleb’s eyes searched his. Neither one of them seemed to breathe. “Taylor, I think I’ll die if you don’t kiss me right now.”
“You won’t.”
“Kiss me anyway.”
Taylor closed his eyes and drew in a shaking breath. He didn’t want to say no. He’d spent so many nights dreaming of the day he'd see Caleb again and none of them included his noble refusal. They always ended with two sweaty boys naked in bed, drowning in sex and love. Caleb was even more beautiful than he’d been when they were last together. His shoulders seemed broader. He was more worldly. He’s probably had hundreds of gorgeous boys by now, Taylor thought. He felt large, delicate hands cradle his face.
“Hey, are you still in there?”
Taylor opened his eyes and found Caleb’s face only inches from his own. Their eyes locked, blue staring into endless blue. Caleb leaned forward and brushed his lips against Taylor’s, before drawing him into his embrace. Taylor hugged him back, reveling in the feeling of Caleb’s body against his when he noticed that Caleb was . . . shaking. He pulled back and brushed the hair out of Caleb’s eyes. He was crying.
Taylor wiped the tears away with his thumbs. “Hey, what’s wrong?”
Caleb grabbed one of Taylor’s hands and kissed it. “I’ve missed you so much. I never thought I’d see you again . . . and if I did, you wouldn’t want to even look at me.”
“Shh. That’s impossible. I’d always want to see you. I’m not like that.” Taylor leaned back into the couch and pulled Caleb with him. His arms curled around Caleb’s waist and Caleb covered Taylor’s hands with his own.
“I know you’re not.”
“What happened back then? Why didn’t you tell me you had to leave?”
“I didn’t know. Nathan found out about the two of us and, well, you know how strict our upbringing was.” Taylor nodded. “He didn’t know what to make of it. He freaked out and told our dad . . . and we were sent back to Tennessee to live with our mom. I didn’t have time to tell anyone.”
“You guys left Oklahoma because of me?”
“Yeah.”
“So now . . . Nathan . . .”
“Oh, he’s cool with it. Turns out Jared likes guys, too. Nate and Matthew get their girls and we get our boys . . . and the occasional girl, too, if we’re in the mood. We’ve all relaxed quite a bit on the whole morals front.”
“Guess so . . .” Taylor shook his head incredulously. “So Jared . . . which one is he again?”
“Dark hair, plays bass. I think he was crushing on your brother when we were on stage before.”
Taylor shot forward. “They’re not alone, are they?”
Caleb laughed softly and pulled him back. “I’m sure they’re fine. Jared won’t hurt him or anything. Plus, I think Matt and Nate are still there.” He turned to Taylor and ran his fingers up the side of his arm. “I think I wanna try that kiss again . . .”
This time, they leaned into each other.
