I worked with my mother for a year... begrudgingly... but then I got a better job then to another better job. So it may suck but you may meet someone who knows something about someone to get you out. That's how I got out.

Have you tried some temp agencies like Kelly Services for a bit? It isn't a permenant solution but it brings you some cash while you're waiting for a job.
