so yesterday was my first day of my new job. its crazy, and a lot different then i expected...a lot more work for sure. i have to learn all 100 of the illinois state police 10 codes. i.e. "10-98 - jail break." i have the worst memory ever so thats not going to be fun. i got finger printed yesterday, and again today...so i can use "LEADS", which is ( Read more... )

i learned the codes in clarksville for a week last year, then immediately forgot them.

cops would radio in to me and be like "yeah we got a 1097 on wilma rudolf, can i get a case number, over" and i'd be all "your case number is "07-142042, over" and he'd be all "THX, over" and i'd all be "10-4!!!"

saying 10-4 over the cop radio was the highlight of that internship.
