That's so terrible! I'm very sorry to hear about that. I understand what a lot of that must mean to you, especially the stuff that was your mom's. Is there no way to get it back? Like go to the dump or something? (Obviously I don't understand how waste managment works)

well what happens with trash day is that you put out your trash on the corner, and then the men with the garbage truck come by and toss all the garbage into the back of the truck, and then the driver presses this button that closes the back and this huge metal wall/cover squishes all of the trash as far into the back of the truck as possible, crushing and compacting everything. so that when they get to the dump, everything is like if you take an empty coke can and step on it, niiiice and flat. completely crushed. so alas no.
