I like Historical fiction because I think its just a little more respectful. Not like James Marsters is reading your PWP but still its his personal life that you're making asumptions of.

Oh I like historical fiction too. Even more so by people who do their research. Which in and of it's self is more respectful.

But would I like a HF-fic PWP as much? I don't know. I've only seen one and it was horribly written which made me hate it.

A lot of them are, just like fanfic, but it just freaks me out be it about a celebrity or my neighbor. It just seems like all the ones I've read are slash and the guy's girlfriends are horribly bashed. Its different when it is a character but it just mean when its a real person. The lady isn't going to be reading it but still. I just think that its a lot about respect.

Alton Brown RPF? Ewwww. RPS? Major squickage there! {No offense to AB ... love his cooking, just don't want to even begin to think of the fanfic from hell!}

I've nothing against the occasional RPS ... depends upon the person/people involved, in said RPS, of course. Most of it just makes my skin crawl - and a small percentage of it can be good (and hot) reading. (I just wanna read RPS if it involves gay boys ... or straight boys that can be gayed up easily.) Otherwise, I'll stick with the occasional slashy (well-written) fanfic ... which means that I don't read very much, and the small percentage that I do is bookmarked to be re-read.

ROFL. You know, I love Alton Brown. I'm even attracted to him. But the wedding ring and kid stops me cold.

Oh yes ... I agree with you on the attraction to Alton Brown! I've got an intellectual/geek crush on the man - and like you, the wedding ring and munchkin are a major deterrent!

Honestly, the wedding ring is a much bigger deterrent than the munchkin.

Well, in the first case, it's a *really* close call. More than I am comfortible making, mostly. In the second, it's easier if the story is written to take place in the furture, since it can change, because it's the President, bad things can happen, if it's in the past...eh...I'm slightly less bothered. Not sure why.

Putting the person in NC-17 level senerios bothers me. And yes, I suppose it's because htye could read them but really, it's more their spose/children could that gets to me.

And sure, I have had daydreams about other people...but they are my daydreams and except with a couple very close friends, I don't share and I don't see why others would either. I mean, TMI much?
