Title: Books and Covers
Pairing: Namjoon/Jimin
Rating: R
Summary: SHORT Hogwarts AU because Namjoon said Jimin would be in Slytherin at a fansign. (pretend that Namjoon and Jimin are the same age for a hot second)

It is finally the day that Namjoon's entire young life has led up to - the sorting banquet. His parents had been Gryffindor, so he is pretty much positive that he will continue the family legacy. It's not his sorting that has his leg jiggling in anxious excitement.

Down the table his childhood neighbor Jimin is surrounded by giggling girls. With his round face, huge eyes, and tiny stature, girls were always trying to befriend him. Like he was a collectible or something. And, of course, everything around him screamed innocence and sweetness. The Park family was made up of Ravenclaws, but he'd already heard rumors of bets being placed that Jimin would be sorted into Hufflepuff.

"Hey, Namjoon, right?" The boy to his left is leaning into his personal space. His hair is red and Namjoon knows what that means - someone else with a legacy to live up to.

"Yeah," he grins while trying to lean back without offending the other first year. "Wh-"

"We're taking bets," the redhead gushes, looking like Christmas came early, "on whether Park Jimin will end up in Hufflepuff or Ravenclaw. Odds are really stacked against Ravenclaw, you want in?" Namjoon can't help his snort. Judging first years based on their looks was part of the fun, even if it was mildly cruel. And, leave it to Jimin to be the poster boy for Hufflepuff. A quick glance at the Hufflepuff table shows them restless with joy and trying to catch Jimin's eye.

The redhead gives him an odd look for his drawn out pause, but Namjoon really wants to start making friends early. "I'll put in 20 for Ravenclaw then." A conspiratorial grin spreads across the other boy's face.

"Levi Weasely." His hand reaches for a handshake and Namjoon knows he's made his first in. It's a little depressing that it's at Jimin's sake. Namjoon grins back, but catches Jimin's looking at him. Jimin's eyes narrow almost imperceptibly. He always had an uncanny ability to know exactly when Namjoon was guilty of something or other. He shudders and prays that Levi is worth the revenge that Jimin will be quick to dish out.

Before Namjoon can attempt to mollify the situation - maybe by mouthing please don't kill me or something equally pathetic - the newest headmaster stands and the hall falls silent. It's time.

One by one, new students march to the front, put on the hat, and boom - they go off on their way. The problem these days was that with all the legacy students, it's pretty obvious where each first year will end up. Born and raised Hufflepuff, sorted into Hufflepuff. Once a Slytherin, always a Slytherin. Namjoon was actually toeing the line into boredom, despite the excitement bubbling in his stomach.

It was finally his turn and the hat took one look in his head and, Gryffindor it was. It felt both monumental and uneventful at once, but he couldn't fight the grin on his face as the Gryffindor table erupted into cheers.

And then finally, it was Jimin's turn. The hall was eerily silent, most likely due to the amount of money that even upperclassmen had riding on his sorting. The moment Jimin had been first spotted shopping for robes in Diagon Alley shopping for new robes, all of Hogwarts had been alight with rumors and speculation about the most adorable student in the first year class.

The hat was on his head for a while and Namjoon could tell that Jimin was a bit uncomfortable with whatever conversation he was having with the hat. He shifted side to side, biting his lip and scrunching his nose. It looked more adorable than your average nervous tic, but Namjoon had known him long enough to know that he was having quite the involved conversation with the Hat.

And then it happened, the Hat opened its big mouth and, "Slytherin!" it bellowed out, just as the rest of the hall gasped in shock.

Namjoon couldn't fight his grin. His eyes met Jimin's and found his grin mirrored.

The thing about Park Jimin was that there was absolutely nothing innocent about him. His parents were Ravenclaw, known for being smart and calculating, but Jimin was more than that. He was pure sexual evil.

He could waltz into Namjoon's house, compliment his mother on her pretty sundress, and then continue up to his room and whisper filthy things into his ear while his hand crept into Namjoon's pants.

He could invite Namjoon to a Park family dinner, only to get him off at the table while his entire family enjoyed their meal, oblivious to Namjoon's despair. Not completely oblivious though - after dinner, Jimin's father had asked him when he became so terrible at eating spicy food. Namjoon still can't look him in the eye.

And then, there was the Hogwarts Express. Namjoon had sat with some of his family friends, chatting about Hogwarts and all the stories their parents had told them when Jimin had arrived at their compartment door. He smiled sweetly and asked if Namjoon wouldn't mind helping him get his bag because someone had stored it far too high up for him to reach.

The rest of the compartment had been split between snickers and adoring coos at the adorably shorter boy. Namjoon ignored the sinking feeling in his stomach and stood to help him.

Of course the sinking feeling was right, it was always right. No sooner had they moved from the compartment than Namjoon was being shoved into the bathroom. He fell back onto the toilet as Jimin locked the door and climbed into his lap.

"Jimin are you serious!? This is hardly the time - oh." And then Jimin's hands are around Namjoon's face, stroking his cheek.

"I don't think we're going to be seeing each other very much after tonight." Jimin is whispering sweetly into his ear, thumbs stroking softly at his cheeks. Namjoon has to chuckle.

"Not exactly Griffyndor material, are you?" Jimin's smile turns predatory, Namjoon chokes on air. "No, you can't be serious right now-"

There's a knock on the door. Namjoon's soul starts shriveling up, Jimin calls out a sweet "one moment" and then leans to whisper into his ear "now you're just going to have to be quiet."

And Namjoon's life is officially over because he really isn't good at keeping quiet during things like this, and Jimin is sliding off his lap and onto his knees and unzipping Namjoon's pants and goddamn Jimin is good with his mouth but Namjoon can never keep his shut.

At Namjoon's surprised gasp, Jimin takes him all the way and freaking hums, the bastard. Namjoon clutches at the smooth tiled walls and Jimin smiles around him, looks up into his eyes and winks.

Students are milling around outside the bathroom door and Jimin is sucking him off in the bathroom and they haven't even made it to Hogwarts yet. Namjoon entertains the idea that they many never make it. He may never make it. He's going to die on the train.

Luckily, Jimin has impeccable timing and before Namjoon has to do the walk of shame back to his compartment, the train arrives at Hogwarts and they sneak out of the bathroom during the bustle of disembarkment.

After a lifetime with Jimin, Namjoon can confidently say that he is not surprised that the he was sorted into Slytherin. Not even a bit.

AN: So I had actually written this for a completely different fandom in, oh, 2012 and never got around to publishing it. Then Namjoon sorted Jimin into Slytherin and I couldn't stop thinking about it. I was, admittedly, too lazy to rewrite it to put Namjoon in his second year. I'm sorry. Also, feel free to give me edits. I just posted it pretty mush as I wrote it. Roughly four years ago.
