I don't know. I think the fact that they're doing it so incredibly late is more than made up for by having Rick Astley himself do it.

Which I think means it's time for the rest of the world to pack it in, because this cannot be topped.

Oh believe me, I for one welcome this level of epicness in our mainstream. Quote Cheese: "I LIKE RICKROLLING! :D "

Rick Astley being there is awesome.

But what kills is is the super white-guy announcer going "And that was Rick Astley, singing The Rickrolling Theme". I mean that's pretty much the equivalent of your 70-year-old uncle trying to rap. It can never be cool again after that.

I've heard rumor that Astley is still supposed to sing at the European MTV Music Awards after being voted Artist of the Century in a landslide or somesuch.

I remember being at a concert in Cincinati where they had some classic rock DJ announce Nevermore onto stage. It was sort of funny watch him fumble through the intro, as he threw in stuff like "These are the guys that sure can play!" I would have almost thought it parody, but you could see he had no clue what he was announcing for (Fear Factory later made up for it by announcing Dream Theater next by just playing a series of music scales. ;p)

Sadly, I cannot watch the video at home, but the guy announcing "The Rickrolling Theme" made me think of that.
