Discussion #2: MBTI

Sometimes I like to run fictional characters through the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and decide what personality type I think they are (Myers & Briggs Foundation, MBTI Wikipedia entry). Personally, I've decided Kon is an ESFP (extraversion, sensing, feeling, perceiving). It's a pretty good description of him: ESFP on wiki, elsewhere, and more. ( ( Read more... )

Let's be honest - he rigs it EVERY TIME so that he can get as close to an anagram of "SUPER" as one can with only 4 letters. *g*

This is somewhat unrelated to Kon... but I just looked at the articles for the MTBI, and assessed myself in context. Then I went back and looked at what you suggested some other characters are. I think I'm an INTJ; in fact, I'm as close to certain of it as one can be without a professionally administered examination. You think Smallville Lex is an INTJ. I'm not certain that sharing an apparently semi-uncommon personality type with a guy who becomes a major supervillain is necessarily a good thing... but it's a thing. Which creeps me out just a smidgen. Eep. Although it may or may not be a rather good match for Tim, too. Which might just be even scarier, because I get the feeling that if Tim decided to be a bad guy, he'd be ridiculously good at it. >_< It's a good thing I don't actually have any noticeable evil tendencies or any desire to take over the world, isn't it?

Also, you description sounds spot on for Kon. Very good match for his character.

I think Tim is I, and definitely TJ, but he's more borderline on the S/N split. He and Lex are totally similar, sansets and I have discussed this before! He would make a really scary villain if he ever did it. (SV Lex still not evil, though. *tinhats*)

I'm actually INTJ, too. I was worried it would sound all arrogant to decide Lex was the same as me. So don't feel bad, it's not a sign of evil. ;)

Hahaha... I like it when SV Lex is awesome and not even remotely evil. And Tim is definitely very similar... but I do think you may have a point about the borderline S thing, in retrospect. You're INTJ, too? Cool. It's just in my case... I'm basically SV Lex with good parents instead of Lionel, not bald, and female. I'm geeky, and into science (and don't even try to argue with me about SV Lex being a geek, he is, no ifs ands or buts). And I'm a readhead. And I'm left-handed. (And I'm totally into brunettes, LOL.) Just... put down the lack of evil and lack of crazy party phase to being raised by nice small business owners from a medium-size Midwest town instead of Lionel Fucking Luthor, King of Douchewaffles. *horror* ;P (Actually... there was this fanfic I kind of want to write that would have a girl version of Tim in it... and I'm really looking forward to getting around to it eventually even though I'm not a very good writer, because in my mind writing Tim in general is like writing a male, gayer (I mainly ship him with ( ... )
