System Administrator/Operations Engineer
Eventbrite is looking for a SysAdmin / Ops Engineer who will be responsible for the 24x7 operation of a large scale production website. Eventbrite is an online ticketing solution startup, with a growing number of users every day. We need someone with experience in:
* Linux/Unix (expert level); LAMP stack; Apache and MySql v5.1; bash
* Scripting/automating management/monitoring of Linux servers with Puppet, Ganglia, Nagios or similar tools; automating server and database migrations by writing appropriate scripts
* Setting up, configuring, securing, load balancing, and backing up servers
* Deploying, maintaining, and scaling our online application
* Designing redundant systems
* Firefighting service outages, working under pressure, and ensuring uptime, security, correctness, and redundancy
* Significant experience with a Debian-based environment. Super Linux hacker
* Configuring firewalls with iptables
* Nagios, nginx, HAProxy, Munin, LVM, memcache, BIND
* Providing input for long term capacity planning, architecture, and security
* Strong plus is experience with: Operating a live web application in a production environment, web security, processing transactions and online payments
