I've been watching this whole thing unfold and it's really weird. To me that is.

I'm not crazy about this line "Love. Liquids. That's what I recommend."

I'm sorry, but love and liquids don't help when my child is coughing and sneezing to the point where he/she can't sleep.

I really don't resort to these things unless it disturbs her sleep. I just think their are too many Americans that will give their kids medicine at the slightest hint of a cold. There was even a daycare center in our county that was closed down after they found out that the workers were drugging kids with benadryl so they would sleep all day. This was even with the parents consent as the parents had to buy it and give the daycare permission to use it! WTF?!?!

You've got to be kidding me. My doctor only suggested I give that to D once because he was having a hard time sleeping through the night at one point. He would wake up and scream for an hour or two every night.

I hope most parents would use it like you do. I agree with you that they do produce some results I think if they are used correctly, with proper dosage and really only if it's a real need.

Yeah, I'm peeved about it. It's the people who go past the recommended dosages NOT for colds that are the ones screwing it up. These same people will just use the children/adult dosages anyways.

I think for the most part, yes, nonmedicating and letting it run its course will work, but sometimes they're just purely miserable.

Now, I don't see why they can't just put it with the pharmacists, ask for it, they give you the dosage, etc. It seems overkill for those who insurance issues to have to go spend money to see a doctor to get medicines anyways.

Just my rant. XD

I completely agree with you. I think too many people use it as a crutch to not deal with their kid when they are miserably sick. I'm always terrified when I do give Arielle medicine that I might go over the dosage line a little and harm her. I use it as a last resort. I don't even like to use medicine for my own sickness, I just deal with it. We have so many expired medicines that are not even halfway empty. lol! need to clean out the medicine cabinet.
