so my dad tells me today that my uncle Kelly mentioned that I'd come out of my room a few times and asked them to be quiet when he's been over and I was "kind of rude about it" and my dad should remind me that I'm a guest here. I am a bit pissed off by this and need a place to vent so here we go. first of all assface, I was not rude, I very softly

Extended family is always tough, I know I finally got to the point where I won't talk to anyone from my dad's side. When I was 18 my aunt called me selfish and lazy because I didn't have a job, I wasn't moved out and I was "only" going to school. She of course didn't have a job and was mooching off of her 80 year old mother. It sounds like Uncle Kelly might be having some problems of his own and is probably unhappy about you staying at your grandparent's place.

yeah, I talked to my grandfather about it afterwords and got the rest of the story, turns out it was actually my cousin complaining (Kelly's daughter) and grandpa told my dad to not even mention it to me so then he was frustrated with my dad for even bringing it up. but at least now I know that as far as my grandparents are concerned I'm welcome here and I'm more than a guest I'm family while I live here. so that was very reassuring. uncle Kelly has always been one of those relatives that just gets on my nerves, he thinks he knows everything and has the right to impose his views on everyone. this is the same guy who says I'm not really an adult because I'm not married... and the only book worth reading is the scriptures... so yeah, irritating.
