"Are you stupid?" Kanau asked from above her, having been on his way to find her when he'd noticed her rapidly fleeing chakra. "Are you a shinobi or aren't you, brat? Because a shinobi would've started climbing the wall by now," he said and rolled his eyes, bending to look into her eyes. "Hurry. Up. I won't be put off of any more missions because of your tardiness."

That said, the Hyuuga boy turned and strode leisurely back up the wall and hopped onto the nearest roof, already headed back to their meeting place.

Blue eyes glanced into pale white ones, before the eyes turned away and she was left to see red bricks.

Kotone gave a tired sigh. She admitted she was very stupid, but still it stung to hear Kanau's words. They were his fangirls to begin with, after all. Hearing their high-pitched squeals at having gotten a chance to see their beloved pretty-boy, Kotone knew they had forgotten about her at that point.

Climbing up the wall, the brunette followed her team mate's direction disconsolately.

He was perched on his usual branch by the time she arrived, spinning a senbon between his fingers like a drumstick and staring off into space, his headphones dangling around his neck and blaring something with a lot of guitar in it.

"Took you long enough. Nishiwaki is out with his father for a while, so it'll just be you and I on missions..." He turned sharply narrowed eyes to her, as if daring her to complain. "Is this acceptable?"

Ryou was out? He could have told Kotone about it before he left...

Once again Kotone looked into Kanau's sharp eyes. Ferocity blazed in them, and she turned away. Sometimes it scared Kotone to see him like that...

Plastering her usual smile on her face, she nodded.

Akemmi hadn't been able to help herself. After listening to Koto-chan's stories of her team, she just had to stop and watch.

And would you look at that, the pretty boy really was pretty. Perhaps Kotone would take to beating them as Akemmi had done in earlier years. That was always fun.

She stood from her tree branch and jumped down. "Koto-chan." She called out.

Ake-nee!"

Kotone looked back, calling out joyfully. "How's brother been? I've missed the both of you so!"

Looking at Akemmi's neck, Kotone frowned in diapproval.

"What have you been doing, Ake-nee? That looks bad."

Turning back to Kanau, Kotone said brighty," Ne, don't get mad? Ake-nee's been looking forward to meeting you."

Akemmi nodded her head to the Hyuuga before addressing Kotone.

"Satoshi's doing quite well. Lots of paper work," She grinned, "But Satoshi likes that." She continued on, skipping over her question. "You're wrong by the way."

She adjusted the sling away from where it rubbed against her neck. "You do have fanboys. Interesting ones too."

"That's good,then. You and Satoshi-nii need to come home more often. Miyo-chan misses the two of you, and so have I!"

She hurried after Kanau, almost tripping when she heard Akemmi's words. She didn't have fanboys. If she had, why did she see neither hide nor hair of them?

Smiling, she said cheerfully," Ake-nee, don't tease. Kanau-kun here has the fangirls, not me. You might need to help chase them away!"

Kanau resisted the urge to thwap her and instead settled for looking between her and the older kunoichi idly before turning to Akemmi and saying:

"Nice to meet you Akemmi-san..." He turned back to Kotone. "...who's she again?"

...why no, Kanau did not pay attention to his teammate's ramblings, thank you!

Her face fell. As per usual, he did not listen to her constant rambling, as he called it.

Kotone mumbled half-heartedly about how Kanau could listen to her sometimes because people would feel sad if he didn't, but as like the person she was, plastered on the smile again. He not listening was expected,anyway.

"She's my brother's close friend."

"Oh... right, right..." He nodded, hair slipping into his eyes only to be brushed away in a manner that made a few fangirls hiding in nearby alleyways swoon right out of their hiding places. "Sorry... sometimes I just tune out," he said, smiling. "I don't mean to, really... usually."

"Not a worry." She brushed off his apology of sorts and the fangirl swoons with one simple flick of her wrist. "Sometimes, to maintain your sanity, you have to tune out."

Akemmi looked at Kotone and grinned her crooked grin.
