Shikamaru was lying down in his room, his ribs wrapped in bandages also across his chest. He had to take some sort of medication or something that Tsunade herself had given him for something and was forbidden by his mother to leave his room on any missions. She'd even talked to Tsunade about it... which he would've paid money to see. But apparently

He looked up to see Sakura. The hell was she doing here? Did she just let herself in or something? He watched as she pulled out bandages and headed torward him. He didn't like where this was going at all. He didn't like being touched by girls, or anyone for that matter. He didn't care if they were medics he just didn't like it. As she slipped on her gloves a bead of sweat dripped down his face as he wanted to back away but really couldn't.
Slouching forward in his usual manner he asked dully if not a bit cautiously, "What're you doing here exactly?"

Sitting down in the chair she glanced over to him giving a slightly annoyed expression at him ignoring her question, but she let it slide and gave him a tentive smile. "I came to visit the injured." Well, it was half true.

He pouted slightly though if not a bit touched by that, though he certaintly didn't show it, "Really? Then what're the bandages for?" He said smirking slightly, as if he was that stupid. He wondered why his bandages were always fresh and clean when he woke up. Not to mention his room magically got clean and all, flowery smelling.
Then glancing away looking otuside at his window at the bright weather they'd been having after that terrible storm he said sort of quietly, "Are you.. the only one who ever came to visit?"

I wonder what she meant by that... With a final wave to Mrs. Nara, Tenten made her way up the stairs to Shikamaru's room. In her hand she clutched two fresh flowers in the same purple shade they had been last time. Neji had commented that the color purple represented nobility, fitting considering all that the young Nara had been through. She had tried getting Neji to come with her this time, stating that he should physically come for a visit at least once out of respect to a fellow shinobi. Obviously, Neji had a different set of rules concerning his obligations. At least he had been there when she picked out the flowers. Maybe next time ( ... )

He heard a knock at the door and looked up to see Tenten who was staring at them with that odd expression on her face. He started to feel his face getting hot. "Heh, Neji always said I had bad timing." He tried to remain calm and look like everything was normal, if he panicked, it would seem suspcious. It's not like they were doing anything anyway, she was just being a medic. Like she was taught and crap, why couldn't they just pick some other generic nurse he didn't know? "Mendoukse na..." He muttered before saying aloud, "It's alright. She was just changing the bandages... or something like that. I would've done it myself..." He mummbled glancing out the window again. How embarassing, good thing he thought about what he said before he said it. Otherwise he would've really stuck his foot in his mouth...
How troublesome...

"A-ah there, you know how to put on bandages Shikamaru-ku-san!" She bit her tongue to keep her voice at a normal tone, running a hand back through her bangs. It HAD to be that sneaked kiss earlier! That was the only way she could ever get this flustered. "Just put your shirt back on when you finish."
She really hoped he wouldn't spite her on that and keep it off because it was to much of a 'hastle' or some other lazy notion.

He almost dropped the bandages as they were shoved at him, he looked at her sort of confused until he saw that red face of hers. Which was sort of a dead give away, took everything he had not to take advantage of it. "Just put your shirt back on when you finish." He sighed dully, giving a even duller nod. If there was one thing, Shikamaru was a lot more composed in such situations than Sakura obviously was. He guessed he'd have to act like nothing was wrong for the both of them... well it wasn't acting anyway! Just because she'd kis--he shook his head inwardly telling himself that it was just an accident and didn't mean ANYTHING. Like a whole non existent relationship practically would be comprimised because of an accident ( ... )

"Shikamaru, are you alright?"
"Sakura...?" He looked downward, how long had she been here? He thought she would've left after he fell asleep. "I...I'm fine." He lied knowing very well he wasn't, being as smart as he was, he realized that even though his external wounds were healing his mind would be physcologically scarred. Especially knowing that his family trait was the only thing that could... these nightmares would possibly never end. Not after nearly taking a visit to an early after life seeing your soul forciablly removed from your body. Glancing for a second up at her maybe he could... tell her? He looked back downward quickly, embarassed that he'd even had been sleeping in front of her. Much less have a nightmare like that.
"It..was just...it was just scary."

"Tell me about it?"

"There, that should help. You were sweating like crazy Shikamaru. Can you move over a...little?"
He obligied to her request blushing quite a bit when he noticed she stopped using the suffix, pretending not to notice.
"Tell me about it?"
He rubbed the back of his neck and begun to explain, "Ano... those...those things. There are more of them you know." He sighed as if trying to calm himself, "There've been many dissappearances of Shinobi in the past few months, and not just from our village. But all the hidden villages, and civilian villages. They were the cause... I was almost eaten by them." He didn't add, 'You would've been next..' as he was thinking morbidly, he didn't want to frighten her. She'd probably find out sooner of later from the Hokage herself, being her apprentice and all ( ... )
