Neji hadn't seen anyone at the gate- it might've had something to do with being in his room studying, but someone had come to get him and told him there was a 'boy around your age waiting at the gate'. Inquiring further didn't get him anywhere, but it was odd he got visitors, and he highly doubted it was Lee. Of course then, it could be anyone. It was likely someone looking for Hinata. Well, even if that was the case, he had to go tell them she was busy.

'Politics,' Neji thought irritably, running a brush through his hair quickly. He glanced over, assuring himself of his appearance in the nearby mirror. He did not want to look like an emotional wreck in front of a guest-- even if it wasn't for him. It didn't matter that he was. The Hyuuga sighed, and strode out his door to go greet their visitor ( ... )

Gaara had been watching a few birds flying overhead when he heard someones voice finally call his name through the large, metal ornate gates. When he had finally been greeted by someone not five minutes ago they had not bothered in asking him what his name was, so that helped narrow it down as to who it was calling his name. It would be either Hinata or Neji.

Thankfully it was the one he was after. What reason would Gaara have to come and talk to Hinata, any way? He had barely said two words to the timid girl in high school. He looked at Neji through the gate still, before he bowed his head to him in greeting.

"Hello Neji." he said politely, "I just wanted to come talk to you about Lee." Gaara was hardly a person to beat around the bush about certain subjects, and Lee was an important one. He just hoped Neji wouldn't try to worm his way out of the conversation.

Well, that was certainly not a surprise at all.

"Lee?" he asked, as if he didn't know what the problem was. Dread filled him as he thought about the potential things Gaara wanted to talk about but he smiled at him, and told Gaara to follow him to his section of the Hyuuga compound. Hiashi had permitted him to live where his father had.

Once inside, Neji shrugged off his shoes, and closed the door behind Gaara as he walked in. "I'll go make us some tea." He said simply, walking into the kitchen. "I will be only a few moments. Please make yourself comfortable."

His manner and speech was conditioned as he fought inner turmoil-- anxiety, nerves, and stress had already wound him up. His hands were nearly shaking as he placed everything on a tray and brought it out.

"What do you need to know?" He could feign ignorance just as well as the next person. The following conversation was sure to be memorable, and it was extremely fortunate Gaara had only come to talk.

Gaara had never been in the Hyuuga Complex before, once when he was on a bus with Lee they had passed it and Lee had pointed it out. That was how he knew where it was, since Neji had certainly never showed him where he lived before. He took in the sights of the houses set up, it was a fenced neighborhood. So, he thought, basically they were all Hyuuga's who lived here? Sounded like the family reunion from Hell ( ... )

"Ah yes." A frowned marred Neji's face for a moment and wrinkled his brow. He regretted saying anything at all now that he thought about it, but he'd needed some sound advice and he was not going to go for professional help-- he wasn't a lunatic.

"I do not think Lee brought it upon himself, and I regret to say that my post probably had something to do with it." As if he'd say anything different. Neji sighed, sitting down on the futon, tea set up on the low table in front of it. "I've been meaning to apologize to Lee about it, but he's avoided me since."

And he looked appropriately upset with his cup in his hand, head bowed. And he was, since he knew that Lee was indeed upset because of him, but it had little to do with the post he'd made, and everything to do regarding their confrontation. He'd cried for a good half hour after Lee had stormed out of his house.

"I am sorry you came all the way here for that." He wasn't. "You are probably angry with me now, hmm?"
