He neared the park, pulling out his headphones to be sure he gave Neji his full attention, shoving the electronic device down into his pants pocket. He looked down to his clock. One minute late already. Well, crap.

Kidoumaru sat down, and Neji pondered his next words. "If everything was alright, I probably would not have called you." Neji reminded him. He sighed and leaned back, trying to relax his coiled body. He was pretty high-strung and would jump at about anything. A good bout of training would solve that, but like Lee, he tended to get into a self-destructive regimen when stress or upset.
Lee... The thought of his best friend nearly made him choke. He was doing nothing right. What was he supposed to be doing? He was hurting Lee. Why was that happening again? He was pretty sure he'd been trying not to. How can I not expect there to be distance when my feelings for him are inappropriate...? Neji's brow furrowed as he thought through everything- trying to figure out what he did wrong and how to fix it. The only solution he came up with was to talk to Lee directly, but...he wasn' ( ... )

Kidou sat there for a moment, watching the emotions play out on Neji's face, until Neji had finally spoke out what he was thinking. Kidou was taken aback, although he had already know that Neji had been in love with Lee, and then slumped forward and sighed, "No, I don't suppose that would make him leap into your arms." Little did Neji know, much to the disappointment of his advisor, that Kidou had a lot of experience over the years with unrequited love and affection. "Even still," he continued, gazing up at the sky. "I'll still see him a lot. He is my best friend after all. I don't... I feel like he's been taken away from me." Neji sighed again, shaking his head. "It's stupid."
