Together, Yet Utterly Alone. [ Pt. II ]

The morning sun filtered through the windows as Karin’s eyes slowly opened from her slumber. She stayed still for a moment, blinking and focusing her vision with the invasive light, and looked over to find her alarm clock and determine the time, thinking that it couldn’t possibly be after 8 AM because she was biologically programmed to wake up ( Read more... )

Karin sighed a little as she watched Zaku walk out the door. Having seen the picture earlier, thoughts and reasons on why it might've made him so upset formulated in her head, but she didn't want to assume anything. Left alone in the washroom, she shook the worry from her head and took the opportunity to pull her clothes out of the dryer and get dressed. Once she was properly clothed, she went to go join Zaku, stopping before she walked out and turning the picture back around.

Soon, she walked back to the living room, seeing Zaku on the couch, and took a seat next to him with a hand resting comfortingly on his leg, but she was unable to speak about it any further. "I wasn't completely in my head and thinking straight last night, Zaku, so I'm not really sure what meaning there was in it..." she paused, thinking about whether or not it had meant anything. "If anything, I would guess that it just showed how much you mean to me. I trusted you last night with something I can't trust just anyone with. I care about you and wanted to get closer to you... and get you closer to me."

Well, it's not like there was a better answer... "Yeah, I understand." Outside, a butterfly fluttered by, and Zaku watched it contentedly, thinking there ( ... )

Zaku laughed on the inside from the light-hearted moment, almost in complete disbelief this was happening to him. The two of them really had bonded closely after all and he couldn't imagine it being any other way. While the future used to scare the pants off him, it didn't seem so bad to him now, as long as he wasn't alone. He snuggled up closer to her, if that was even possible. The butterfly had long since fluttered away ( ... )
