The TF fandom does not deserve nice things.

Because seriously, what the hell is this.

Don't get me wrong, I adore the fic in question. I look forward to the updates, and I admire and envy the writing, since I sure as hell can't write political intrigue or action scenes. Do I have problems with it? Yep. And that brings me to the point.

This fandom doesn't deserve anything nice it gets.

Every fandom has drama. All of them. Even if there was only one person in it, and there is always someone overly sensitive. Especially about their creative work

I think you hit the nail on the head about the "influx outflux" problem. TF fandom is still a highly segregated (fanartists and authors in one corner, toy and comic enthusiasts in the other, largely) fandom, AND a smallish one, at that. You have the same kinds of problems in the HP fandom, but you can avoid it because you never hear about it, since the fandom is so massive that any drama and crazy fades into background noise pretty quickly

To be fair, there are some real gems in there. It's worth following it, for me... but I can easily see why people would be all "Well, fuck that. 8|" and abandon ship.

(But to be fair, you're usually pretty picky with your pairings, so I'm never sure about recommending any... for example, there was a brilliant fic posted the other day set in IDW with Captain Orion Pax... but it was M/OP. SO WHAT DO I DO?)
