launch day is coming

You guys, I'm so excited! We're almost ready for launch!! We shall begin on 1 May, so I've decided it may as well be 1st May in game. That means it'll be Wednesday 1 May 1850/18 Jumaada al-Thaany 1266, woot! You will get a nice weather report on the day. Not exaaaaaaaaaactly sure what a dirigible mechanic would be doing at a fancy ambassador's party, unless maybe the captain was invited and decided to bring some of his better behaved crew along. :)

I imagine the Common Council members will be attending? Perhaps with their spouse(s)? I can't see any reason for Yildiz to be there on her own, but her husband happens to be on the Common Council.

For sure. And Yildiz is a significant member of the community so it's totally not out of the bounds of the possible; Kostantiniyye relies very much on trade and the movers and shakers of the city tend to come from guild backgrounds, so I think it would be feasible for her to be invited anyway. :)
