Battery Tracks.

Here's the short film I just finished. I presented it tonight and got a lot of good criticism and feedback, so there may be a few changes/additions in the near future.

so now that I've watched it, I'm curious what feedback you found helpful.

- add title card intros for primary "characters"

- use images of scanned documentation to back up Marlon's (guy with beard) claims about Lawrence at the beginning, and to cover the 3 or 4 fade transitions

- leave out shot with Joon photographing the compost shoveling, as it seems like the work is being done for the camera, or that these kids just think what they're doing is cool in a self-indulgent way

- put back in some information that was left out for time constraints (specifics discussed during q&a session)

- leave a few aural breaks rather than keeping sound constantly going with talking/music/talking/music

Maybe a few others I don't remember at the moment.

Kontra, Let me know when you finish this. It'd be cool to screen it at the brick and to have a copy on hand.

The problem with future changes is that I haven't actually been using my own equipment. Making the changes would necessitate scheduling new time at a friend's house. I'm trying to give him a little space right now, since I was coming over 3 times a week to finish this on time.

I'll just bring you a DVD as-is and replace it if I get to change it around. A screening is more than welcome, and I would love to have a discussion afterward about conceptions of property rights, what responsibilities we do and don't have to communities, etc. But that ain't necessary. Movies and food is good.

Oh, we could also screen Jen's latest documentary about visiting the families of her immigrant coworkers in Mexico. Local, independent media double-feature. :)

Whatevs. Let me know if you end up deciding to schedule something.
