So a guy and his girlfriend decided to steal an SUV from an old barn. The man who owned the property saw someone's arm hanging out the passenger window and "believed that person might be holding a gun" - why exactly that is, we are never told, probably because it's either not true, or the owner was coached by police to keep the man out of jail. but good grief this is both highly infuriating and deeply depressing. My internal system doesn't know how to react with this combo of uppers and downers.

i'm not a member of the nra. i believe in gun restriction laws for this very reason. for every sane calm person who owns a firearm for their own safety or protection against others, there are 20 more psycho, over-zealous, "patriotic" americans just looking for an excuse to shoot theirs, at anything or anybody, to get off on the implied power of shooting a weapon.
