I really like this. Anarchist activity at its best, I think.

If I lived there, I would gladly hop on my bike and help with giving away art.

Oh hell yeah. It would be fun to deliver them even if you had nothing to do with the art.

If I weren't so busy with other stuff here, I'd try to help start something like this up. (Video was posted by a couple of Richmond friends who liked the idea of doing it here, but probably wouldn't invest the energy without prodding. Plus, I'm not that immersed in the art scene.)

Wonder how much printing would be...

How much printing would be doesn't matter. The artists send the art in, whole, original, ready to go. No digital allowed.

Did the video say that? Because that's a shitton of original work to just be handing out on the street. Not only would you have to have a fantastical amount of contributions, but each packet would be different.

I'm actually NOT in favor of that. If I considered myself an artist, I certainly wouldn't want to simply give my work to an organization that would hand it out at random so that I don't even know if the person who would own it would even care for it, or NOT throw it away immediately.
