Y' know what, babe! He's not a Loser. He's acting like one. He knows you definitely have grown up and moved on ahead of him. He feels it but he doesn't know how to articulate it in words. I suspect he has a low self-esteem after reading your reply, so he writes you back and "pretends" he doesn't know what to do with his life, or is nonchalent about it.
