I agree with a lot of this. I'm still figuring out which part. Politically, I'm not as saddened by the fact that Bush might be our president for another four years. I'm more afraid of the fact that most American people don't even know where each candidate stands on the issues. All this crap within the last few months has kind of pushed the important stuff aside, almost to the point in which whoever gets elected really doesn't matter. The American public, largely ignorant of these issues, will continue to vote like they're still in high school.

I agree, people treat the presidential election like a student council race. But even then, voter turn out isn’t the greatest. You’d think people who have the discipline to take time out for voting would also take the time to research the candidates. That’s what pissed me off about the Republic Convention, they didn’t even talk about the major points in the party platform. Republicans are supposed want minimal federal interaction, but no, they want to tell you what to do with your body, who to marry, and where to invest. The Democrats are socialist, so it’s a lose-lose situation. Question is, which side will lose less.
