Richard Gere needs to keep his trap shut. Or he'll be sleeping with the fishes, see.

It’s ironic that Richard Gere, who has played so many immoral characters that could be offensive to the people in the region, was the person delivering this message. If they actually knew who he was, he’d definitely be sleeping with the fishes.

Yo broham. I liked the first Metal Gear Solid even though it was a little preachy with its anti-nuke propaganda. I won't even mention MGS2. Anywho, is that the big theme for 3? A soldier's loyalty? Is the story 'forced' or anything? Hell, I'll probably end up buying it either way. Thanks for reminding me this game existed.

I guess I was too young when the first MGS came out, so I really didn’t pick up on the anti-nuke thing. But yes, I think the main idea behind MGS3 is loyalty. However, the game functions on two levels: a cheesy James Bond action game & a historical perspective on soldier’s at war. It’s not forced in a way that will ruin the game’s “message”, but some of the supporting characters are lame. I beat it in two days, and the ending was definitely worth it.
