The Eagle Has Landed…In Boston!!!

(Cue Blur “Tender” and The Dismemberment Plan “Life of Possibilities”…this is a LONG post)

As you can tell, this is my first entry from BU, in Warren Tower C. I don’t know why, but I’m starting to regret coming here. What was I thinking? A new kid in a giant dormitory, with no friends. That’s me. I hate it, because in my mind I’m so used to having ( Read more... )

I only wish you could see the HUGE smile that took over my face when I read this. Welcome to the East Coast James! I think you're exactly right about seeing through different eyes---that's what moving around and meeting new people is for--not to turn you against your origins, just to turn your gaze so you can view them in a broader context.

Don't believe everything those BU types say about Harvard. Some of my best friends in the whole world go there. BC does truly suck, though that's to be expected because it's in the freakin suburbs---same goes for Tufts.

Yes, YES! Do UN-educate yourself. Get lost so you can really find yourself.

I'm so glad to see your words here in LJ. Book's on the way as soon as I have the address---maybe something else too---maybe even in time for the birthday....

Cheers yo!

Hehehe. One of my good friends goes to Tufts, so I think you need to cut them some slack. =P

I'll email you my box number sometime today, probably right after the MLK rally at the GSU.

MLK rally?! What are you rallying FOR?

Anyway, don't you know this is a national sleeping day? Or a national shopping day? You're awake? OK, off to Newbury Street with you....

Slack duly cut for your friend but---truth be told---Tufts=high school...socially, anyway. It's a huge trek on buses and the T into Cambridge/Boston. And it's an ugly ass place. The only really good thing about it is that it's close to a Krispy Kreme store.

(Just because I'm an energetically, almost obsessively nice person who sees the good in everything and everyone doesn't mean I'm not arrogantly and ourtrageously opinionated--and an unaplogetic elitist, you know?)

Well, I really don't know what I'm rallying for. Perhaps they didn't use the right words when talking about it. They're having speakers and stuff, and I'm curious. And my friend is an Art major, so he's probably in his own little world over at Tufts.

I only woke up early to avoid the shower lines. Don't hate the player, hate the game yo. Besides, I can't go shopping till I buy my books...which I won't until classes start. Tomorrow!

Oh wow, just reading that makes me relive my FirstDays memories. So wonderful.

Ahhhhhhhh. Contentment...

Is this really contentment? If so, why do I want more? Haha, it actually does feel like contentment though. Strange, but overwhelmingly fulfilling.

Excellente. Vivo en uno-cero-cero-cuatro. Lots of cool people on the tenth floor. I'm keeping my door open, and I should be back here after the MLK rally.

Tizzle. It's like 9:30am right now, and if you're awake feel free to stop by (I left the room numero in spanish code on my comment to Cordelia). If not, then I'll be back here after the GSU, probably around 2pm??? I think.

PS: I found out it's only $8 to purchase rush tickets for the Boston Symphony. Schweet!!!

Are you thinking about trying to transfer? I heard it's not too difficult if you apply for the Fall semester. Where there is a will, there is ALWAYS a way. So please don't feel bad, you make me feel bad. =(
