I know I sound like a cheeseball, but I'm really happy to be in WA. It's cool to hang out with my family like a normal person gets to do.

My nephew, Malek, (or "Slippers". That's his self-proclaimed cat name.), thinking he's all fancy getting breakfast in bed:

This past Saturday we had a family group birthday party. My family from Texas is here after going on a week long Alaskan cruise for my cousin Sarah's high school graduation. (p.s. I think I got to go to  a family brunch at the local El Torito for my high school graduation. What the hell!?) Anyway, so two of my cousins and my (Seatte based) bro-in-law had their birthday this week, so we had a party. I made the cake, 1. to be helpful **2. to trick a bunch of super omnivores from Texas to unknowingly eat a vegan cake and love it! The cake turned out great and got rave reviews. Problem?

It slowly fell apart minute by minute and I had to insert about 8 skewers to -kinda- hold it together. This is why I'm a chef and not a baker. It got rave reviews in taste though. In fact, I even had a lump of it tonight and I am not a dessert fan by any means. I think I'll make it for my own birthday on September 2nd! (And my Aunt looked everywhere for it. score vegan cakes!)

Here's a family picture on my mom's garden steps in which I'm doing my infamous muppet impression: ( I hate my face in pictures in the sun. I instantly go into muppet mode.)

In conclusion, I realize that often my behavior may be eccentric or dorky, but it's not my fault. THIS is where I get it from: (and they were totally sober.)

(my grandma, my mom, my aunt.)

In other news, I sure do miss my AZ friends. Especially my roomies and extra especially this guy:

I wish I could just ship everyone I wanted to see all the time to an island and we could all live together and create an awesome commune of awesomeness. Hey, it worked for Australia. (almost- minus the overly cheery annoying accents and fact that they were prison inmates.)

I just got back from Forks, WA from trailing along on a "Twilight" themed trip for my 18 year old cousin. Lots of pictures to come! ( Complete with an abuncance of dorky fake-vampire teeth ones of me. Lucky you.)
Goodnight!
