Since it's the beginning of the year, it seems like our classes are telling us the same thing: be an individual. I almost hate hearing it because it's pounded into us. The way people tell you to be yourself, find yourself, forge a new person-this rhetoric gets very old very fast. It might be true, it might even be the best suggestion we've ever ( Read more... )

I cant believe you wrote more about this. Why must you remind me of this foolishness? I almost fell asleep in hal today. The only time in about months that has happened.

I don't like the bullshit about how we have to forge ourselves some new individual or something, and we can only do it through that class or something. I am who I am today, and I really hope that my classes don't try and make me either change that or rebuild it from scratch.

They kinda treat it like we're a bunch of zombie clones right now, and somehow by going through X class, we will become real individuals.

Something else that makes me mad is how some people talk about it like god made them into who they are or something. Give yourselves some damn credit, people. You had a part in shaping who you are too, as did your parents, your friends, and your environment. But that's kinda off of your topic. Sorry. Thanks for throwing out my Propel bottle when I missed today.

We've had several papers in our class which focused soley on Jesus. Religion isnt bad, but I would hope its a part of your life, not the whole.
