So, did that mean no more Santa for you? My siblings and I persisted in believing in the Easter Bunny right through college. Even if we had to provide the Easter Egg Hunt (we're talking candy here, none of those hard-boiled eggs) ourselves.
Totally honestly- I don't recall. I know that incident happened, but how long Mom and Dad persisted in wrapping up presents from "Santa" after that, I couldn't say. I think probably until my little brother grew up... by the time we were all in our teens or older, it was over. Although, I still occasionally wrap up a present myself for Mom and Dad, with Santa on the From tag- but it never works! They always recognize my handwriting! As for Easter, I haven't done that since I was a tiny tot! Now Hallowe'en's a whole `nuther story...!
We still do stockings. It's just too fun. Santa can come or not as he pleases. We give the dogs and cat stockings too. We sew up treats and toys in a canvas bag and it takes them half an hour or more to get the stuff out, while we have tea or coffee and unpack our swag in a leisurely manner, to the critter-stocking-show.
