Exposing bias against alternative lifestyles in popular media

My title for this entry sounds like a thesis paper, huh? But I get pretty miffed when I catch derogatory references to certain activities -things I like or feel are worthy- in popular media, particularly television. My cousin and his nuclear family are respectable rednecks. And he loves making fun of rednecks.

Uh, let's see, the simple truth is that public media has always made fun of groups that differ from the majority in some major way. It's a sad fact of life, that always has been and always will be.

Cop shows, ESPECIALLY CSI, like to go overboard making fun of ethnicities and subcultures. Another fact of life.

Public media sucks, huh? :P
