Yes, I am still alive!
I realized how little I've posted over the least two weeks (ie. none), and while I'm busy today, I wanted to put up a quick note to let everyone know I'm fine, enjoying my new winter cabin, and working on my own cabin. While in Asheville, I read a bit of Masaru Emoto's The Hidden Messages in Water. This read, coming so soon after re-reading Bob Shaw's short novel masterpiece, The Ceres Solution, was a spiritual mind-blower. When I heard the price tag charged by The Secret movie's James Arthur Ray for his weekend retreat, I was both astounded and disgusted. This is the epitome of plastic shamanism, I said to myself. The spirits were surely displeased- and showed it. Two people dead, one a very physically fit woman with no health problems?

I just realized that Mark Williams, the actor who plays Arthur Weasley in the Harry Potter films, also played in one of my favorite TV shows, Red Dwarf, the British SF comedy series.
