The more winter approaches, the more my hot tea cravings come to surface...

The other day, while I was drinking an outrageous amount of it from my favourite mug (by 'Andrea Fontebasso 1760'. It's a gift given to me several years ago that I still keep in its original package...Ok, ok, I'm a mug / cup / teapot weirdo. Proudly so), I started to think ( Read more... )

Mariage Frères is a great address. I'm not sure if they have the specific item you're looking for, but they have fantastic teapots and cups in all sizes and materials (coincidentally I'm using one of their Arare cast-iron pots right now).

*Patting her forehead* You're right, of course! Gosh, and that brand is even famous all over the world...I've managed to forget that, how typical.
I don't think they produce what I want (maybe those sets are more British than French), but I can always ask. Great tip :)

Japanese teapots? They're terrific. Always loved the design, and I'm curious about the material.
Which type of tea are you drinking at the moment?

Thank you, Alex, I knew I could count on you :)

Would be cool if they had something like that. I didn't see it on the site, but maybe they have a bigger selection in the actual shop.

Mine is cast-iron and it's fantastic because it retains the heat better than any other material I've used. And they're practically unbreakable, so definitely worth the cost. I'd only be careful about Asian-made iron teapots since the glaze they use can contain lead, but these are lead-free.

Today it was an Autumnal Darjeeling from an estate called Chamong. I love it because it has a little more "oomph" than first-flush Darjeelings. :)
