So, Wasa...this was my first Olympic distance triathlon. And I have to say that in spite of it being my first Olympic tri, it was by far the most relaxing and FUN triathlon I have ever experienced, although it certainly didn't start out that way ( Read more... )

You could Brandon. You'd just have to completely change the way you work out. (Triathletes are muscular, just really lean and thin at the same time. Or at least the pros are.)

And remember, I have put in nearly two years of solid hard work to be able to do this. Now that I have done it, it seems to me like anyone could!

Don't those types of stomach cramps come from electrolyte loss?

So that is all amazing! Even if I could come even close to such physical activity for that length of time, I would fail horribly--I can't swim in lakes! Or ponds, rivers...anything freshwater. There are...critters in freshwater.

Oh wow! Do you think so? That would make so much sense!

You could do swim in lakes if you put your mind to it and practiced a lot to overcome the fear I think. And don't forget, with more than 250 bodies splashing around I'm sure there weren't many critters nearby!
