~~The mountains are waiting,
full moon's come.
I got lost on the highway,
but don't ask me where I'll be
or what I've done.
The sun has come to save me,
put a little love into my... lonely soul.~~
The bed is empty beside him. The pillow flooded with early morning light. He blinks the sleep from his eyes and lifts his head; glancing around the room until he spots him.
Kevin is in front of the window -- leaning on his elbows -- face propped up on his hands. The shafts of sunlight coming in from the window causing his tanned skin to glow. Breath stirring the glimmering particles of dust dancing in the air. His eyes are focused out the window, gaze fixed on some unknown point. He looks lost in thought -- pensive.
Kevin also looks so completely beautiful it takes his breath away. The toned and elegant lines of his naked body illuminated in the golden warmth of the sun.
"Kevin -- what are you doing? Why aren't you in bed?"
Kevin is startled out of his daze by the sound of his voice and turns his head in his hands to look at him -- palm half covering a lazy smile.
"Oh -- nothing much. Just wanted to watch the sun rise. Did I wake you?"
He smiles in return and pats Kevin's empty pillow. The other man lifts away from the window and saunters back to the bed; flopping onto his back. He shifts onto his side so he can admire the view of Kevin in his rightful place next to him. It's something he never tiers of seeing. Something he has waited so long to have...
"No -- you didn't. I guess I just knew you weren't there anymore -- could sense your absence -- felt something was wrong. Does that sound crazy?"
Kevin laughs and reaches out a hand to ruffle his hair. He glares halfheartedly at him and the other laughs louder. It's a sound full of warmth and affection -- honest and sweet.
Kevin reaches out and takes one of his hands in his own. Entwining their fingers together before bringing their combined hands up to rest against the pillow, above his head. The other man leans in closer until he is half covering his body with his own -- guiding him to lay on his back. Kevin's sun warmed flesh is soft against his cool skin. Where their bodies are pressed together he can feel the strength of the other man's muscles as they shift and strain. Making him dizzy with want.
"You just knew I was gone, huh?"
He nods his head in agreement and Kevin's smile is soft and somewhat sad. His eyes once more focusing on something visible only to him.
He reaches up with his free hand and cups Kevin's cheek in his palm. Stubble lightly grating against his skin and making it tingle. He tilts the other man's face to look at him and slowly Kevin's eyes lose the glazed look. He blinks and whatever strange mood had come over him is gone in an instant. Eyes once more sparking with keen light.
"Where were you just now? You looked a million miles away..."
He says the words softly and Kevin nuzzles his face into his hand. Pressing a gentle kiss to his palm.
"Don't worry baby -- I'm here -- I've always been right here."
He wants to question him more but Kevin is leaning down, pushing him into the satin bed sheets. The other's face hovers before his for a moment -- eyes searching his own -- then Kevin is pressing warm, dry lips against his mouth.
The kiss is gentle and sweet. No rush or desperate need to cloud the simple pleasure of being close to each other. It's far more intimate then the greedy, heaving, aggressive push and pull of darkness and torn clothes. A kiss meant to be shared in the light and warmth of the sun. No hiding necessary. The languid glide of lips and tongue is for open eyes and clear emotions. He has been waiting a long time for this kiss. It is everything he had hoped it would be...
When Kevin pulls away his breathing is a little heavier, his eyes are a bit darker. The other man tightens the grip of their joined hands and he squeezes back. He opens his legs in invitation and Kevin wastes no time sliding between his pale thighs.
The feel of Kevin's body pinning him into the bed is comforting and intoxicating at the same time. The other man is already fully hard and he wraps his legs around his waist without hesitation. Kevin is smiling again, broad and full of contentment. It makes his heart swell. He rolls his hips and the other man mirrors the motion until they are both gasping and moaning -- warm moist breath gusting into the small space between them.
Kevin's eyes are tightly shut and he has the sudden need to see their clear blue depths. He lifts his free hand to tangle it in the curls at the nape of the other's neck and pants his plea against Kevin's slightly parted mouth.
"Kevin -- please -- open your eyes. I need to see you..."
Kevin slowly opens eyes that are glassy with lust and fixes his gaze on him. The rocking of the other man's hips increases and he has to bite back a deep keening moan. He manages to focus on Kevin's face and his chest twinges sharply at the sight.
Kevin is moving above him. The graceful bow of his back allowing sweat to pool in the dip of his lower spine, glittering as it diffuses the light. Sunlight is pouring in from the window behind him and it causes the outline of Kevin's body to burn brightly -- edges blurring -- making it look as if he and the light were one. His sandy blond hair is illuminated. A halo glowing in the loose curls. Kevin looks otherworldly in his beauty and he feels tears well up in his eyes.
He is so blessed to see Kevin like this -- to have him in this manner. So fortunate to be here with him in this singular moment in time.
He feels his climax approaching and he pulls Kevin down for a quick kiss. Sweet warmth is flooding his body and he feels the movement of Kevin's lips against his own. Can hear the low tone of his voice, harsh with desire.
"It's alright Alan -- I'm here -- I'm not going to leave you. The sun has finally risen..."
He cries out his completion -- back arching sharply -- griping Kevin's hand so tightly he knows it must hurt. Their eyes never leave each other and Kevin smiles down at him once more. That same soft, melancholy look from earlier gracing the curve of his full lips. Shading the glint of his eyes.
The light behind Kevin is growing. Bleeding into the edges of his body and enveloping his form in blazing white. He holds on tighter to Kevin's neck and he can feel his body burning where they are touching. Kevin leans over and kisses him gently. Whispers his name reverently. The light builds and builds until he is blinded by it. The heat radiating from his lover's body a sensual agony -- intrinsic like the sun...
The bed is empty beside him. The pillow cloaked in a thick darkness. He is torn from his sleep, shuddering and gasping. Tears wet on his face, trickling into his silver hair. He lies there for a moment in shock. The dream wrecking havoc on his senses.
His body is tingling with pinpricks of heat and there is a dampness between his thighs.
His eyes adjust to the dark room. There is no moonlight tonight -- only faint outlines are visible. He turns his head towards the window and his throat tightens -- for a moment he thinks he sees a figure standing there. He grabs his glasses from his bedside table and shoves them onto his face haphazardly. Sighing in relief when it is only a trick of the dim light from a street lamp outside -- casting strange shapes in the shadows.
His heart is slowing its frantic beating and he lays back into the embrace of sweat soaked sheets. He stares at the ceiling and tries to push the memories of the dream from his mind. There is no point in thinking about it. It's nothing more then illusion.
The bed is empty and cold beside him -- the pillow cradling no beloved crown. There is no one here to kiss his mouth or hold his hand. No warm smiles and clarion laughter. There is no one by the window -- gazing out to watch the birth of a new day with eager eyes. No one to love his body as well as his mind and soul...
Kevin is not here with him. He is a million miles away. Gone and nearly forgotten. Lost to the passage of time and age. He will not see him again in this lifetime. He knows they will never be together.
And on the threshold of a dream -- even the shinning of the sun can be a lie...
~~Oh Lord, send transmission,
forgive me for what I've become.
The sun has come to save me,
put a little love into my... lonely soul.~~
