I was wondering the same thing last night, but then I was glad he didn't tell her because she'd have had an even better thing to hold over his head, and the only secret weapon they have against Morgause would have been gone.
My complaint is different - I don't understand how they so fundamentally changed Morgana's character between the first two seasons and this one. I understand how she hates Uther, and why she would be at best neutral towards Merlin. But how could the woman who fought at Ealdor, who had a meltdown when Gwen was taken just last year, whose entire history with Uther has been fighting him in favour of *justice* suddenly become ok with killing the townspeople and razing the entire country to get Uther? I thought the performance was great but it really bothers me that they've taken all the ambiguity out of Morgana's character.
