I finished the first third, and by tweaking a couple of sentences slightly I made Part One end on exactly the right word

You switch main character now, or point of view? Has this character appeared in the first part, or are you going to be settling into the head of someone entirely new?

The viewpoint character from the first part continues to do her thing and remains a major element of the story, but the viewpoint now changes to a new, as of yet only hinted at character instead. Basically, the action now follows someone completely else, but the same story continues to unfold.
