I totally get that -- with a 5 year old myself and a job I need full mental function for -- I have to start practice at 7 and be leaving for home at 9. Is there anyway you guys could start a practice that begins earlier or takes place on the weekend? Good luck!
You need to find a way to make practice a habit again. It's always easy to put off practice because there is always something that needs doing, or maybe you've been doing so much that a night off just sounds good. I'm certainly guilty of that. I found that, even with something I enjoy as much as fighting, that making practice a habit reduces the tendency to put it off for another day. at becomes a permanent part of the schedule and I plan around it.
I think the fighting timing will come back after a couple of practices; it's pretty engrained in you by now.
I need to practice what I preach, but it's a little harder as I work nights. I'm thinking of starting a weekend practice of some sort in the spring.
Wish you were not on the other coast; I miss practicing with you!
