Recently, I've been given a hard time for enjoying specific songs. Let me be the first to admit that I do not have an especially refined taste in music. In general, I like a lot of music, and, in many ways, I allow myself to be attracted to songs not solely based on the lyrics or the beat or the music video. I have a fairly open mind, musically

It's funny...before we met, I never used to listen to the radio or much music in general. Now, every time I get into my car, I turn up the radio just thinking and singing the whole ride (and on warmer days, I also pull my hair back and roll down the windows). Lots of songs strike me in different ways for different reasons like those you mentioned and that song is among one of the many these days.
