I'm getting to the point that I don't want to post anything to any of the comms and just never ever involve myself with anything in this fandom. Everytime I do, I just walk away frustrated. And maybe I'm the one with the problem and not them but gods ( Read more... )

Comepletely understand and agree. That's one of the great problems with us/society in general today - everyone so oversensitive concerned with maybe possibly oh my NO! offending someone. Anyone. At any time.

Hate to tell you people, but life is full of crap that makes us sad/angry/hurt/offended. Get the f**k over it. Or stay inside. Either way, don't limit the rest of the world around your Issue.

Sometimes I want to be majorly Anti Politically Correct for one whole day just so I can get it out of my system. I get so tired of checking every little word or action I do because someone somewhere might take offense to it. There are, of course, obvious things that you don't do because they are cruel and hurtful. But some of the things people are sensitive about are just stupid and I want to scream at them to grow up, get a life, and get over their high and mighty selves. *gets off soap box as well*

I think it's the attitude of 'everyone look out for my ego/psyche/baggage' that gets me. Never mind the fact that we have no way of guessing what is going to set (general) you off becuase WE DON'T KNOW YOU! Sorry that we failed psychic 101 and, therefore, can not read your mind.

Unless you stay in your house and off the internet, you are not going to be alone, and - ergo! - there will be other people with their own ego/psyche/baggage to deal and interact with. Therefore, triggers get pulled (hopefully unintentionally) and reactions happen. IT happens.

It's called life. The more you connect to and with people, especially anonymous people over the WORLD wide web, the more chances (general) you take of being confronted with things you may not like. You can't expect the WORLD to cater to your UNKNOWN needs. It just isn't possible.

I say every day that people need to get back to being responcible for themselves and their own actions and not expect the rest of us to act as their babysitter.

You know I had it with my "Steve drugs Danny" post. Most of these folks wouldn't have lasted 10 seconds in the SPN fandom. They need to know to check RL at the door, and stop mixing fandom with RL. I wouldn't condone some of the things I write about, not the least of which is incest.

And in the H5-0 fandom, and I stated this openly, half the folks seem to have some sort of trigger word or subject.

Oh gods! The SPN fandom would eat most of the H50 fangirls alive! LOL! The SPN fandom is not for the faint of heart that is for sure.

The H50 fandom has lost its appeal for me. I've already whittled the comms I'm following down to I think 5. I just got tired of having to keep track of so many comms when most of the same stuff was getting posted to each comm anyways so I didn't see the point. And the stuff I am missing isn't worth crying over.

I wonder how people cope in this world if they're so worried about every little thing around them. I'm also astounded that people seem to take it for granted that it's everyone else's job to look out for them. I have my own triggers about a couple of personal things, but I've learned to deal with them, I don't expect the rest of the world to conform to "protect me".

It's just gotten so stupid. *sigh* But alas, that is the way the cooke crumbles most days anymore. :)

Part of me is tempted to write a non-con fic, clearly note in the synopsis that a character gets raped, and then not note non-con and see what happens. That would prove people only read half of a story header. I am so cruel, I know. I have been thinking of leaving a few of the story comms myself, because if I miss anything, I belong to the newsletter comm, which keeps me up to date on stuff I miss.
