It's confusing. The two Independents (Bernie Sanders in VT and Joe Lieberman in CT) have both said that they will "caucus with the Democrats."

If we are at 50-50, then Dick Cheney is the tie breaker, which would be *bad*. And Virginia looks headed for a recount, so don't assume anything there.

News from my dad: "James Webb now has a 8,359 vote lead in Virginia with 99.75 percent of precincts reporting. The margin of George Allen's loss is BELOW the mandatory recount level. If Allen wants a recount he has to pay."

The recount was because the Election Commisar forgot to zero the counters after counting the absentee ballots, so they got counted twice. New software confusion.

Burns, who protested the propriety of recounting back in 2000 may call for a recount this year.

But MT has good optical-scan vote counting equipment so I expect it wont gain him anything even so.

Yay Tester!
