Other Characters: N/A
Character: Ryuutaros (aka Ryuta, Ryuu-chan, Brat, Den-O Gun Form)
Series/Fandom: Kamen Rider Den-O
Deviance: Deviance 1
Age: Imagin don't really seem to have ages, but if anything he's likely a younger one than most. Mentally, he's somewhere in the teenage range.
Gender: Male
Species: Imagin - beings made out of sand who come from the future to muck with the past.
Canon Used: Going off the Den-O TV series, the movie "Ore, Tanjou!" and eventually "Climax Deka."
Psychology:
What anyone would first notice about Ryuutaros would have to be his immaturity - whether that means drawing with crayons, making a general nuisance of himself with nerf guns and bubble blowers or sticking his tongue out when things don't go his way. Of course, he very much likes when things do go his way, and will generally do whatever he can to ensure that to be the case. While this may often be viewed as him being selfish (especially when he would possess Ryoutaro and then act so recklessly as to get Ryoutaro seriously injured), the truth is that he doesn't know any better. In more ways than one, he really is a child and hasn't developed the sort of common sense you'd have from dealing with a variety of people. As his only role model (and friend) before meeting Ryoutaro et al. was Kai, he picked up on all of Kai's nasty little habits. Namely, manipulating people and doing whatever would suit himself best.
What isn't always obvious, however, is that Ryuutaros acts the way he does primarily to get people to like him. He badly wants friends, has a terrible fear of rejection, and hates being alone. He tends to think of the other Taros Imagin and Ryoutaro as a sort of makeshift family, calling nearly all of them by childish nicknames of his own creation. Getting into a serious argument with the other Taros or Ryoutaro tends to leave him depressed and wanting to curl up in a corner until things cool over. He positively adores Ryoutaro's sister Airi, to the point of considering her his own sister as well and working to prevent anyone (re: Yuuto) from getting near her.
When things go wrong, he sulks, and he has a difficult time apologizing for his mistakes. He will often not even understand that something he has done is wrong, unless it is explained to him. On the whole, Ryuutaros has a rather innocent mindset which unfortunately is paired with his rather powerful (if not always accurate) gun-wielding skills. He loves animals, dancing, and sweet things of all kinds and will always go out of his way to protect the former from harm. Additionally, Ryuutaros is very trusting - if someone is nice to him once, it is incredibly hard for him to believe anything bad of them, until evidence otherwise is thrown in his face.
Other Skills/Abilities:
He is able to summon backup dancers and hip-hop music out of nowhere (no, seriously), and can manipulate people's wills with a snap of his fingers. This latter ability was learned from Kai and only seems to work on those who don't have a strong sense of purpose (ie. random passerby on the street is far more likely to be affected than the policeman currently in pursuit of a criminal). Of course, Ryuutaros generally uses this to make people dance or to convince them to leave an area.
By himself, Ryuutaros wields an overlarge shotgun (the Ryuvolver) which has a beam strong enough and wide enough to miss far less than the smaller handgun used in Gun Form. Along with pulling said overlarge shotgun out of thin air, he can also produce a wide variety of childish toys (including, but not limited to, bubble blowers, crayons, sketchpads, tinker toys and nerf dartguns) from lord only knows where.
Ryuta can also possess Ryoutaro, which he tends to do most when Airi is involved or when it's horribly inconvenient, and is strong enough to prevent the other Taros from possessing Ryoutaro or otherwise forcing him out of Ryoutaro's body. Although he controls Den-O's Gun Form, he is... a terrible shot. Maybe one out of every fifty bullets he fires will hit the intended target - which means he tends to cause more damage than the other Taros combined. He also can make use of Den-Liner's seventh and eighth cars, which form the "Den-Liner Ikazuchi" - somewhat of a mini battle train, which fires energy blasts and can do a combination beam shot with Gun Form.
Other Weaknesses:
Ryuutaros is contracted to Ryoutaro - meaning that if something happens to Ryoutaro, or Ryoutaro's memory of Ryuta, then Ryuta will fade away and cease to exist. Additionally, Ryuta will do anything - anything - Airi tells him to do (she's generally the only surefire way to keep him in line).
History:
Like all Imagin, Ryuta is from a future version of the world whose timeline somehow became disconnected to that of the present day. As a result, he became unable to sustain a physical form - aside from a very grayish, sandy version of himself that can easily be kicked apart or that of a glowing, floating spherelike... sphere. In the future, he was close friends with an equally childish Singularity Point named Kai who was the mastermind behind sending Imagin into the past to muck around with people's memories and reconnect their future to the original timeline - or, rather, Ryuta believed them to be close friends. Kai told him all about a super special awesome time-traveling train called the Den-Liner, and Ryuta, being the gullible trusting kid that he was, was completely taken in by the idea of defeating one Nogami Ryoutaro and becoming the train's conductor. So Kai gave him an irrevocable Rider Pass and sent him on his merry way to the past.
Of course the first thing Ryuta did was possess Ryoutaro. Or, rather, to hide his presence within Ryoutaro by entering his body at the same time as another Imagin. Ryuta remained hiding in Ryoutaro's unconscious until a regular of the Milk Dipper hypnotized Ryoutaro in an attempt to dispel the 'demons' that had been possessing the poor guy. Unfortunately, it had the opposite effect; Ryuta came out in full force, blocking the other Taros Imagin from reclaiming Ryoutaro's body while he went and ran amok with it. It was only after Hana tried to reason with Ryuta that Ryoutaro retook control and forced the Imagin out.
After that, Ryuta became a regular among the DenLiner passengers and lent his power to Ryoutaro as Den-O's Gun Form. Not too long after, Ryoutaro et al. met Sakurai Yuuto after Ryoutaro ran into Yuuto's older self in a trip to the past. Ryuta took an immediate disliking to Yuuto, who was slated to become Airi's fiancee. After some faulty advice from Kintaros about showing strength to impress Airi, Ryuta took control of Ryoutaro again in order to attack Yuuto. Zeronos and Gun Form were evenly matched, and it took both Hana's intervention and Ryoutaro reclaiming control to put an end to the standoff.
Not long after that, passengers on the Den-Liner began complaining about animal noises and food disappearing. It turned out that the source of the trouble was a room full of kittens, puppies, birds... and a swanlike Imagin named Sieg, who Ryuta had invited aboard. Sieg had unintentially made a contract with the baby of a pregnant woman instead of the woman herself, and was currently seeking the mother in order to return himself and his 'brother' to her. Once the baby was returned, Sieg attempted to fight off an Imagin targetting the mother as Den-O's Wing Form, but was too weak to put up much of a fight. Den-O followed the Imagin to the past and defeated it, returning to the present to reveal that Sieg had actually already fulfilled a contract with the mother, and thus could return to her most cherished day and live in that past rather than disappear.
Aaand then a couple of Imagin keep the good guy group occupied with a botched robbery attempt while a new Big Bad named Gaoh took over the Den-Liner. In order to fight Gaoh, Yuuto began time jumping to bring different versions of Ryoutaro to the 'Climax Scene.' Each Ryoutaro was then possessed by one of the Taros Imagin, so all of Den-O's forms were able to fight Gaoh. However, after Gaoh was defeated, Ryuta, Urataros and Kintaros started to disappear. Apparently, Ryoutaro only had memories of fighting with Momotaros as Sword Form, meaning the memory of the others had vanished and thus they would cease to exist. However, due to Ryoutaro's strong emotional bond with them, the K-Taros was formed, the group was reunited, and Den-O gained a new, more powerful form that utilized all four of the Taros at the same time - Climax Form.
Ryuta's current canon is post episode 28 ("Too Lucky, Too Excited, Too Strange")
Reality Description:
Ryuta's reality is essentially modern-day Japan, with the addition of Imagin turning up and possessing people and/or generally causing havoc. These Imagin are unable to take on a physical form until they make a contract with a human to fulfill a wish of the contractor's choosing. Once the wish is fulfilled, the Imagin is able to travel back to the date of an important event in the contractor's life and cause chaos in order to affect the present day.
Another addition is that of the Kamen Riders, who gain extra power through their contracted Imagin and can travel through time on their respective trains to prevent damage in the past. Once an Imagin is defeated, the damage they caused is reversed in accordance with memories of people in the present. However, if a place or person is not remembered in the present and are erased in the past, they will not be revived. They will either be displaced from time or wind up as a passenger on the Den-Liner. Along with that comes the idea of Singularity Points, who are individuals unaffected by changes in time. Even if their entire reality is destroyed, they can continue to exist regardless of anyone's memories of them. Their memories are also key in resetting major events from the past.
Finally, is the Den-Liner (and Zero-Liner), which are trains that can travel through time. The 'space' inbetween times resembles an endless desert with a tye-dye sky, and the train's doors can open on any time, anywhere. The train is generally where the Taros Imagin spend their time, and its cars can break apart and transform into battle-ready versions of themselves, to aid the Taros.
Some NPCs of importance include:
Ryoutaro - Ryuta's contract holder, a Singularity Point. Quite possibly the unluckiest guy in the world. Becomes Den-O.
Hana - A rather violent girl, also a Singularity Point. Keeps the Taros in line, usually by hitting them.
Naomi - Den-Liner's cook and oftentimes Ryuta's playbuddy.
Owner - Den-Liner's, well... owner.
Momotaros, Urataros, Kintaros - The other Taros Imagin who are contracted to Ryoutaro.
Airi - Ryoutaro's sister who Ryuta thinks of as a sister as well.
Kai - Ryuta's best friend (or at least, that's what Ryuta thinks) who's out to alter the past to reconnect the Imagin's future to the present. All Imagin can hear him talking and giving orders, Ryuta especially.
