Urgh. Just.. urgh.
I've been working on a review paper for the Journal of Fire Country Science Educators (or JFCSE for those in the clique, as it were). As such, I've had really little time for sleep between the usual teaching, grading, and meetings etcetera ad nauseum and the research and reading needed for this paper, never mind actually writing it.
Kotetsu says I'm taking on too much and should leave the paper until the summer and he's probably right, the bugger, but I just can't help not leaving it alone. I mean, it's such a fascinating topic, bacteriorhodopsin. Who wouldn't be excited about little archaea (not in fact bacteria) which can use sunlight to power sodium pumps in their membranes to keep from exploding? Plus they make a really pretty purple colour when you purify out the protiens.
Wow. I've just reaffirmed how much of a nerd I truly am.
On a side note, Hayate hasn't been looking so hot lately. I'm not sure if he's caught another bug or if it's because his girlfriend left for service again.
